Learning Points for the Bad Ending

There are many ways to resolve conflict. Regardless of how one manages conflict, persuading people to see your point of view by overcoming resistance is a large part of it. Your objective when dealing with resistance is to get the person to open up and share their feelings. When resolving conflict it is important to remember that empathy promotes resolution.

Did you notice that Pauline:

  • let things escalate between Nick and Gail before she stepped in?
  • didn't set any rules and just let the two continue to argue and insult each other?
  • showed a lack of respect for both Nick and Gail by settling the conflict with a coin toss?
