  A good way to "kick off" the team's first meeting would be for Maria to give a detailed explanation of, "dog and pony" show and why it is essential to CanGo's goal of issuing an IPO. A list of features typically included in a "dog and pony" show could be distributed at that time. Maria could explain the team's task, the deadline, and then answer all the team's questions.
   
2. Preparing a presentation is a complex task that requires a broad range of skills and abilities. How would you go about forming a team to ensure that it includes the necessary skills and abilities?

  Once the scope of the team's project is clear, it is possible to determine the range of skills necessary for the project's success. Maria could select those CanGo employees who have the right skills and abilities and then choose the best qualified from this list.
   
3. Leadership is crucial to any team or group's success. What would you do to ensure that this team has the leadership necessary to complete the project?

  It is usually not a good idea to assign a team leader. It is better to let leadership emerge. However, it is important that at least one member of the team possess leadership skills. This can be determined by past behavior and/or more formal assessments of leadership ability.
