Discussion
1. Debbie has determined that not only does monthly demand almost double in December but the historical pattern of demand also changes. She details the new pattern in her December Demand Memo to Warren. Using the information in the memo, how would you recommend that Debbie schedule workers in December?

2. In the video, Warren asks about scheduling guidelines for the temporary workers. Do temporary workers need guidelines different from those for permanent workers? What guidelines should be provided for temporary workers?

3. Up to this point, we have assumed that all of the workers are very flexible and can perform any of the jobs. In scheduling, this has allowed us to treat employees equitably. As CanGo grows, we may need to schedule the various positions (pickers, shippers, receivers and stockers, gift wrappers and customer service reps) separately. This will add considerable complexity to the scheduling process.

There are a number of software products available to address these issues. Take a look at the following sites, and then come up with a description of the features you would like to see in the ideal product.
