ElizabethAre great leaders made or born? The question seems less important than the fact that many executives seem to lack the special magic that separates mere tacticians from world-class leaders. What is it that distinguishes mundane managers from charismatic leaders? Is it drive and ambition, the power of a leader's personality, his/her ability to analyze complex situations and to make them seem simple? Is it a talent for the powers of persuasion? Perhaps leaders just possess the uncanny ability to size up a situation, and adjust their managing style accordingly. Whatever makes the difference, great leadership is something we all can recognize.
