Part 2

The Committee has made some pointed comments about Liz's strategic leadership abilities. Their remarks address the following three strategic leadership functions: clarifying strategic intent, building an organization, and shaping a firm's culture. Match the Committee members' comments below with the appropriate leadership function.

1. Board member number 2 claims, "She's a great entrepreneur and visionary and all that jazz."

2. Board member number 2 exclaims, "We've talked to her about getting out of the day-to-day operations, but she can't keep her fingers out of every slice of pie."

3. Board member number 1 says, "A seasoned CEO would have worked with operations to make sure CanGo was geared up for the holiday rush."

4. Board member number 3 believes, "She is the life force behind CanGo."

5. Board member number 2 says, "I don't think Elizabeth has what it takes as CEO to ensure the growth of CanGo. Most companies that have been around as long as CanGo have hit it big by now."
